As is standard practice, Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois have been suspended from boxing after the pair went head-to-head in an entertaining undisputed heavyweight-title fight at Wembley.

Usyk and Dubois clashed again on Saturday night, almost two years after the Ukrainian came out victorious via ninth-round knockout in Warsaw to retain his unified belts.

Coming into the much-anticipated bout, Usyk was the overwhelming favourite while Dubois was priced at 3/1 by Sky Bet.

And the undefeated 38-year-old started the stronger man at Wembley, landing his jab on numerous occasions in the opening rounds to take the sting out of Dubois' game.

Usyk continued to throw crisp combinations throughout and, while Dubois stood strong on occasions, the WBO, WBA and WBC champion picked off the Brit with his beautiful southpaw style.

It was a masterclass from Usyk and, as you can see in the footage below, Dubois was floored with a big right hand in the fifth round before the 27-year-old was put to the canvas again moments later.

So, there we have it. Usyk knocked out Dubois in round five to once again become the undisputed Ring, WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO heavyweight world champion.

Why are Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois suspended from boxing after the rematch?

In boxing, suspensions are mandatory periods where a fighter is prohibited from competing to allow for recovery and prevent over-exertion.

Typically, a fighter is suspended for a minimum of seven days after a bout, with longer periods [30-60 days or more] imposed for losses by knockout or technical knockout.

These suspensions are in place for the fighter's safety and can be reviewed and adjusted by medical officials.

After the bout between Usyk and Dubois, both men will be been looked at by medical experts to ensure they haven't sustained any serious injuries.

In the scenario that one fighter was defeated by a technical knockout – when the referee decides a fighter cannot safely continue the match for any reason – the loser would be required to rest for at least 30 days.

If a boxer loses by a clear knockout – where the fighter fails to get back up onto their feet before the count – the defeated would have to sit out for a minimum of 60 days.

Daniel Dubois sparked fears of a potential last-minute withdrawal

In the build-up to Saturday's fight, Dubois sparked fears of a potential last-minute withdrawal after an "unusual" and "slightly concerning" situation ahead of his bout against Usyk.

Usyk arrived at Wembley just after 7pm to support some of his friends that were competing on the undercard.

Dubois, on the other hand, arrived much later, which sparked plenty of concern amongst the DAZN commentary team, who confirmed that he hadn't arrived with 90 minutes to go until the main event.

A report from World Boxing News claimed Dubois' no-show sent "shockwaves" through the event team and broadcasters clamoured to find out if he'd arrived. Security and officials also searched for updates amid growing concern.
