Michael Buffer's iconic voice boomed out before and after Tyson Fury's first meeting with Oleksandr Usyk back in May and the legendary ring announcer will be the voice of tomorrow night's hotly anticipated rematch, too.

Hundreds of boxing's greatest ever clashes have been heightened by Buffer's famous "Let's get ready to rumble" catchphrase as he introduces the fighters.

The 80-year-old from Philadelphia has been a boxing announcer since the early 1980s and – alongside his brother, Bruce Buffer, who announces UFC events – boasts arguably the most recognisable voice in any sport.

And Buffer is well rewarded for the razzamatazz his presence and vocal ability adds to major pay-per-view showdowns.

According to CelebrityNetWorth, Buffer earns between $25,000 and $100,000 every time he utters his famous line.

He also reportedly has a staggering net worth of $400 million thanks to licensing deals and announcing fees and has even been paid as much as $1 million for a single appearance.

Buffer didn't become a ring announcer until he was in his late 30s, having earlier worked as a salesman and a model.

And his illustrious career in combats sports was almost brought to a premature end in 2008 when he was diagnosed with throat cancer.

"I'm actually a survivor of throat cancer so I'm very, very careful with my voice." he told The Daily Mail in 2016.

"I'm eight years recovered now. I was actually ready to retire at that point but I was very lucky to have surgery and the right doctors. I didn't have to have chemotherapy or radiation and 30 days after surgery I was back to work."
