American boxing fans were furious after fans booed the US national anthem ahead of Logan Paul vs Dillon Danis.

The pair are taking part in the co-main event on the Misfits Boxing Prime card, with KSI vs Tommy Fury still to come.

Ahead of the fight, the United States national anthem was sung, with both fighters being billed from the country.

But the crowd at the AO Arena in Manchester were not having any of it, and booed the anthem as it was being played.

And US fans - and fans from other countries - had their say on the booing on social media.

Taking to X (Twitter), one fan wrote: "The people from the UK cheering for Logan Paul and Dillon Danis but booing the US national anthem is wild."

Another said: "I knew they would start booing the American national anthem, get that out of here."

A third added: "British folk booing the US national anthem can go screw themselves!"

A fourth wrote: "England booing America's national anthem..."

Others, though, saw a different side of the booing: "UK booing the USA national anthem is the most British thing?"

Another said: "Manchester booing the US anthem is peak."

Paul and Danis are in the midst of a boxing grudge match, which has grown in animosity and intensity over the course of several months.

WWE star Paul is entering his fourth professional fight, having suffered a draw and a loss to KSI, and another draw against boxing legend Floyd Mayweather.
