Tyson Fury’s father, John, refused to be his son’s best man at the renewal of his vows to his wife, Paris – and it’s fair to say he did not hold back when rejecting the offer.
Tyson returned from a 16-month layoff last Saturday (April 11) when he beat Russia’s Arslanbek Makhmudov by unanimous decision at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, before becoming embroiled in a war of words with fellow Brit Anthony Joshua, as the pair continue to be heavily linked with a Wembley showdown later this year.
The following day, season two of At Home with the Furys was released on Netflix, giving further insight into the personal life of the former heavyweight champion and his family.
Tyson’s wife, Paris, and their seven children feature heavily, while his father, John, and half-brother Tommy also appear.

As ever, John gave several words of wisdom to both sons, even telling Tommy that the “difference is that once you’ve signed on the dotted line, there’s no coming back, is there?” during a conversation about possibly marrying his fiancée, Molly-Mae Hague.

John Fury refuses Tyson's best man request
In a later episode, Tyson and his wife of 17 years, Paris, travel to Nice, France, to renew their wedding vows in the company of their children for a third time, having first tied the knot in 2008.
Before the trip, the 37-year-old tells his father of the plans, to which the straight-talking 60-year-old replies: “Oh, Tyson, what’s this b*llocks you keep coming out with?”
“What the f**k for?” he adds, before Tyson says he wants to reaffirm his love for his wife.
“[I’ve] never heard of such sh*te,” John continues.
The ‘Gypsy King’ then asks his father to be his best man for the occasion.
“Would you do it?” Tyson asks.
“Oh, Tyson, I don’t want to do it, honestly,” John responds, before adding: “Unbelievable. You’re just wasting your f*****g money and time.”
Even when Tyson tells him that the flight to France is only an hour and a half, John says he wouldn’t get on the plane even if it were only a 10-minute journey.
The camera then pans to Tyson speaking openly about his childhood, with the fighter revealing that very little emotion was shown around his home while he was growing up.
“I didn’t have that growing up, none of that open love… at all,” Tyson revealed when explaining why he has always wanted his family to have an affectionate relationship.
Later in the episode, Tyson video calls his dad while fishing with his four sons, which appears to make John slightly regretful about snubbing the trip, with the 60-year-old suggesting he would have joined the rest of the family if he “knew it was going to be like that”.
