Jake Paul brutally hit back at Conor McGregor following his 'dweeb' dig during a press conference with Mike Perry.

Paul hasn't fought since his win over Ryan Bourland last March, but he will return to the ring on Saturday when he faces former UFC fighter Perry.

Paul's eagerly anticipated heavyweight clash with Mike Tyson was postponed after the 58-year-old fell ill on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles.

In the meantime, the 27-year-old will take on Perry, who has made a name for himself in Bare Knuckle FC, having beaten the likes of Michael 'Venom' Page as well as former UFC champions Luke Rockhold and Eddie Alvarez.

Ahead of the fight, Perry received the backing of Conor McGregor, who called Paul a "dweeb" during a BKFC press conference in Marbella, Spain.

Bad blood has developed between Paul and McGregor in recent months, with the UFC star heavily critical of the YouTuber-turned-boxer's fight with Tyson.

A fight between McGregor and Paul has been mooted for some time now.

On Thursday, during Paul and Perry's pre-fight press conference, Paul slammed McGregor and MMA fighters in general.

In response to McGregors' comments in support of Perry, Paul said: "First of all, he's big upping the BKFC but you're going to see what I do to their best fighter on Saturday night. I'm going to embarrass their whole entire league.

"This guy has no skill, these are just brawler, idiot, street fighter dudes who have no idea what the sweet science is. Conor McGregor can say what he wants but he won't fight me either.

"Once I knock out Mike Perry, McGregor let's do it, but you won't run it because you know what's going to happen, you saw what I did to Nate Diaz who I went toe-to-toe with.

"So Conor McGregor: lay off the cocaine, get in the gym, start winning fights and then maybe we can have a conversation."

Another flashpoint in the press conference came when Paul lost his cool with Perry: "Shut the f*** up! Your words as MMA fighters are f****** meaningless," the 27-year-old shouted.

"You guys are all p******. Every single MMA fighter is a f****** p**** and you can't box for s***.

"And when I try to fight y'all in MMA y'all don't do it. You and McGregor [are] both b*****."
