Floyd Mayweather's nickname is 'Money' and it's for good reason, with the 48-year-old boasting a net worth of around $400 million.

One of the highest-paid athletes in history, Mayweather is believed to have made more than $1 billion from purses in his incredible, undefeated boxing career.

The 50-0 fighter made a reported in $250 million for fighting Manny Pacquiao in 2015 and then collected an even bigger pay packet two years later when he made $300 million for his victory over Conor McGregor in a boxing superfight.

Mayweather has also earned easy money for various exhibitions with the likes of Tenshin Nasukawa, Deji, Logan Paul, John Gotti III, Aaron Chalmers and Mikuru Asakura.

He has never been afraid to flaunt his wealth, posing with cash, splashing out on huge luxury purchases and even sharing cheques paid to him for his exploits inside the ring.

But back in 2013, the 15-time world champion decided to show off to an ESPN reporter who spent time with him ahead of his showdown with Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez.

Tim Keown had unprecedented access to Mayweather for a feature and witnessed him fork out eye-watering amounts of money.

Floyd Mayweather stunned journalist by showing him his bank account

While in a Foot Locker store n the Woodland Mall in Grand Rapids, Mayweather called Keown over and showed him his bank slip to show him exactly how much he has in his account.

Keown was left in disbelief when he laid eyes on the document, which was 11 numbers long and to the tune of $123 million.

"He looks around to make sure nobody is watching before holding out a slip of paper cupped in his right hand," Keown recalled in his piece.

"It is a bank slip, and Floyd is watching me watch it as my eyes attempt to focus on the balance. I look at the numbers spread out across the thermal paper. I had heard that Floyd does his banking the old-fashioned way: going inside, talking to a real-life teller. He is also known to be a big proponent of maximum liquidity. Still, the amount of digits spread across the bottom-right corner doesn't seem possible.

"I look up to see Floyd smiling. He begins to laugh. I say something unintelligible about too many numbers. I'm not sure what prompted this. Perhaps he mistook my look of fatigue for disapproval? Given his spending habits, is he concerned with pre-empting the inevitable talk that he will end up broke? Or is it simply one more example of the man's hubris? I look down one more time to make sure I got it right. And yes, it's right there, 11 numbers long.

"There is more than $123 million in Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s bank account."

After nodding and folding the slip, Mayweather is understood to have quipped, "One account, baby" - informing Keown that all his money is one place.

This was prior to a reported $41.5 million payday for beating Canelo and with even higher purses following, in addition to funds from various other ventures, one would expect Mayweather's account to have even more money in these days.
