Canelo Alvarez WENT AFTER Oscar De La Hoya in response to his comments at the pre-fight press conference ahead of his big fight against Jaime Munguia.

Canelo and De La Hoya clashed at Wednesday's presser as they were involved in a nasty war of words.

The Golden Boy promoter, who used to look after Canelo's career before their split, took aim at the superstar boxer.

He claimed he built Canelo's career and exclaimed: "Put some f**king respect on it."

De La Hoya then accused the fighter of failing TWO drug tests, which prompted him to confront the 51-year-old.

Canelo later called De La Hoya a 'f**king asshole' and accused him of trying to steal his money.

He was speaking at a pre-fight press ahead of the defence of his super-middleweight world titles against Munguia on Saturday.
