A special request has been granted for Anthony Joshua vs. Daniel Dubois in what will create history.

Joshua takes on Dubois for the IBF world heavyweight title in all-British showdown at Wembley Stadium on September 21.

'AJ' will fight for a world title for the first time since his rematch against Oleksandr Usyk back in August 2022.

He's on a four-fight winning streak since losing to Usyk, beating Jermaine Franklin, Robert Helenius, Otto Wallin and Francis Ngannou.

Dubois, on the other hand, makes the first defence of his IBF world heavyweight title, having captured the vacant interim belt against the previously-undefeated Filip Hrgovic.

He was elevated to full champion after Usyk was forced to vacate the red and gold strap.

'Triple D' has won back-to-back fights following his defeat to the Ukrainian.

Joshua vs. Dubois is shaping up to be a monstrous event and Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh has confirmed their 'request' has been granted ahead of fight night.

He took to social media to reveal that their request to extend the capacity for the show has been approved by local authorities, meaning a crowd of 96,000 is expected.

On X, Turki wrote: "Our request to extend the capacity for a record boxing crowd at Wembley Stadium for the Joshua vs. Dubois fight at the #RiyadhSeasonCard Wembley Edition has been approved. Tickets will go on sale on Friday at 12pm UK time."

The expected crowd of 96,000 would surpass the 94,000 that was in attendance for Tyson Fury vs. Dillian Whyte back in April 2022.

This will be Joshua's sixth stadium fight in the UK, having fought at Wembley Stadium twice. He beat Wladimir Klitschko and Alexander Povetkin at the home of English football.

The former world champion has also fought at Cardiff's Principality Stadium twice and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Dubois has experienced one stadium fight in the UK, having fought on the undercard of Fury vs. Derek Chisora, which took place at Tottenham's ground.
