Logan Paul has trolled Floyd Mayweather on Instagram ahead of their 'super exhibition' bout next year - by commenting on how short he is.

The YouTube star is scheduled to face Mayweather on February 20 despite being four stone heavier and being six inches taller.

Paul is six foot two while 'Money' is five foot six and he took aim on social media with a photoshopped image.

Alongside the picture of Paul stood looking over Mayweather is a caption of: "50 and oh my god he's small."

The inspiration behind his post comes from an iconic photograph of Muhammad Ali.

Ali is looking down at six-year-old Patrick Power ahead of his heavyweight title fight against British great Sir Henry Cooper in 1963.

Mayweather is often regarded as one of this generation's greatest ever boxers and he retired in 2017 with a 50-0 record.

Since retirement, he has turned his hand to exhibition bouts and in 2018, he defeated kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa inside one round.

The odds are heavily stacked in Mayweather's favour - but Paul thinks he could be able to pull off the 'greatest upset in the history of sports.'

"I'm always searching for the ultimate challenge and it's a dream to go toe-to-toe with the greatest boxer alive," the 25-year-old said. "I am ALL IN, and on February 20th, the world could witness the greatest upset in the history of sports."

Meanwhile, Mayweather added: "This is going to be a great night for the fans worldwide as we are bringing something special to them through sports and entertainment.

"I have never shied away from doing things differently throughout my career and fighting Logan Paul in this special exhibition is just another opportunity for me to do it again."

Some are concerned about the fight however and are worried it'll negatively impact Mayweather's legacy.

Boxing reporter Gareth A Davies told talkSPORT: "It's very odd to have the greatest defensive boxer of the era that I've covered boxing -- the last two or three decades -- against a guy that did college wrestling, a strong individual.

"It's clearly just a money-making exercise for Floyd Mayweather.

"And I think this may be the one event, if it goes ahead, that really does backfire on Floyd Mayweather.

"I think it really might cause his legacy to be deeply and badly affected, that's my view on it right now."
