Former world champion boxer Danny Garcia was born with ELEVEN toes and believes it gives him an advantage in the ring.

Garcia, nicknamed 'Swift', is 36-3 in his professional career and held the unified WBA (Super), WBC, Ring magazine and lineal light welterweight titles between 2012 and 2015.

He has also been the WBC welterweight champion and beat the likes of Amir Khan and Paulie Malignaggi.

His last fight was an unanimous decision defeat to Errol Spence and after 19 months hiatus, he returns to the squared circle against Jose Benavidez Jr at the Barclays Center in New York City this weekend.

It's a step up in weight for the 34-year-old, who is now fighting in the middleweight division. And ahead of the bout, Garcia has been openly talking about having a sixth toe on his right foot and how he has learned to embrace it.

"I'm gonna keep showing it off because when I was a kid, I was ashamed of it," he told TMZ.

"Now, I'm somebody. That six-toe brought me a long way.

"I already got the advantage. I got an extra body part. He's gonna need an extra arm to beat me."

Garcia kept the additional body part secret for a while but in 2015, during a chat with TMZ, he took off his shoe and showed his six toes.

Told it was a "gift from God", Garcia responded, "That's why I'm never off balance and why I've never been down."
