It's the dream match wrestling fans everywhere have talked about since Reigns returned in the summer of 2020 with his new 'Tribal Chief' persona.

While many have speculated if The Rock would return to lace up the boots one more time against his cousin, we may just have gotten the first hint that 'The Great One' wants to face-off with Reigns.

On the latest episode of the NBC sitcom Young Rock, which chronicles the early years of Dwayne Johnson's life, a scene plays out between a teenage Johnson and an adolescent Reigns.

A voiceover by Johnson introduces Reigns before a graphic lists' his WWE accomplishments. It's here where the actors playing Johnson and Reigns tease what may be to come.

"Come on Dewey, let's wrestle," a young Reigns exclaims.

"No. The world's not ready. A match that big can only happen at Wrestlemania," Johnson replies.

Look, it may only be a line on a TV show, but we can dream right?

Reigns is currently the company's biggest drawcard and is in the midst of a record-breaking reign as its top champion, holding the gold for the last 585 days, while Johnson is arguably wrestling's greatest ever drawcard considering his current standing in Hollywood and his history inside the squared circle.

Following Reigns victory over Brock Lesnar to unify the company's top two championships at Wrestlemania 38, many have predicted that the long-awaited dream match could finally take place at next year's Wrestlemania in Hollywood.

Wrestlemania 39 is currently scheduled to take place at Los Angeles's SoFi Stadium across the weekend on Saturday April 1 and Sunday April 2 and given The Rock's current ties to Hollywood, many believe it's the perfect location for this dream match to take place.

Johnson hasn't competed in a WWE ring since 2016's Wrestlemania 32 when he defeated Erick Rowan in six seconds. Prior to this, Johnson's last two high-profile 'Mania matches were against John Cena at Wrestlemania 28 and 29.

While it's still 12 months away, this could be the first small hint we may see a battle for the title of 'The Head of the Table', come Wrestlemania next year and we can't wait to see if it comes to fruition.
