Olympic Boxing Gold Medalist Claressa Shields Has Vowed To 'Beat The S**t' Out Of Jake Paul

By Stewart Perrie

It seems Jake Paul has another willing opponent in the boxing world.

The American YouTuber-turned-celebrity-boxer currently has a record of two wins from two bouts - and now he's been called out by Olympic boxing champion Claressa Shields.

The female boxer has won two Olympic gold medals and holds a perfect reputation in the ring, with 10 wins and no losses or draws. Not only that, but she also used to hold world titles in not one, not two but three weight classes.

She's now taken aim at Paul and his colleagues for making a mockery of the sport by competing in exhibition fights.

Back in November, Paul and former basketballer Nate Robinson went toe-to-toe before the highly anticipated Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr. bout.

Paul made short work of his opponent, knocking him out at one minute and 35 seconds into round two.

While it was a good result for the 23-year-old, Shields believes there are plenty of talented boxers who should have been given the chance to be undercards for the Tyson vs Jones Jr. fight and not a YouTuber and former professional basketball player.

Speaking to TMZ Sports, Shields said the industry needs to focus on athletes who are actually good at the sport.

"I've been boxing for 14 years, two Olympics, but they would still give Jake Paul the nod because he's a man. And it's like, you guys don't know nothing!" she said.

"Jake Paul is making his money, he's doing his thing, but stay away from us real fighters."

Then she offered Paul a chance to see what it's like to be in a proper boxing match.

"Anybody out there that say, 'Oh, Jake Paul will destroy her because she's a woman...' I'm the greatest woman!" she said.

"So, no, Jake Paul won't do nothing with me and if he think he can, he can come see me.

"I, Claressa Shields, will whoop Jake Paul's ass! He can come in the ring weighing 180 pounds and I will come weighing 168 and I will beat the s**t out of him!"

Whether Jake takes on the offer is yet to be seen, however the YouTuber has set his sights on trying to defeat one of the most significant athletes in MMA.

Paul's made it very clear who he'd like to face in the future, telling ESPN: "I am dedicating my life to beating Conor McGregor.

"Financially, it already makes sense. Financially, I'm already one of the biggest prize fighters and there's only a couple more bosses to check off and to beat and to conquer."

He went on to say that he'd like to 'fight a couple more people first'.

Adding: "We're figuring that out. I want to prove to the world that, 'Yo, I'm gonna knock out all these fighters'. Conor McGregor can maybe be the final boss. If we were playing a video game, he could be the final boss. And then I'll probably retire after I beat McGregor."
