Tensions flared during the press conference after Tyron Woodley's mother confronted a member of Jake Paul's entourage.

If Tyron Woodley wasn't already growing tired of Jake Paul's antics, then he definitely will be now.

The former UFC champion looked visibly upset and even had to be restrained after some of Jake Paul's crew got into a verbal altercation with Woodley's mother at the press conference.

Yes, this is the same legendary Momma Woodley that MMA fans are all too familiar with thanks to her incredible post-fight embraces with both Kamaru Usman and Darren Till.

The press conference was fiery enough as it was, with both boxers trading barbs ahead of their highly-anticipated bout.

But when proceedings finally wrapped up after a rather tense face-off, tensions reached boiling point when Paul's entourage decided it would be appropriate to start exchanging pleasantries with Woodley's mother.

In footage posted online, you can see Deborah shouting at one of Paul's team members - clearly angered by something he had said in the crowd.

Seeing the altercation play out in front of him, Woodley then made his way off the centre stage to try and approach Paul's crew but he was shepherded away by security and police.

"You talking to my mum, bro?" Woodley said.

"I'll f**king sleep you right now".

Seen hovering in the background, Paul shouted in Woodley's ear: "Do it then. Do it then, b***h."

The bickering continued on as Woodley tried to deal with the heated scuffle, but as the volume in the room increased one worrying cry stood out from the crowd.

"Why have you got a knife man?" One person said.

It remains unknown whether there was genuinely a knife on the scene, although the claims definitely don't paint a pretty picture regardless.

Paul, who was all bark and no bite when the melee initially erupted, was seen slowly creeping back to his side of the room in a bid to keep well clear of it all.

Cooler heads didn't ultimately prevail and the fracas eventually spilled out into the corridors of the event hall.

In another clip posted on social media, Woodley can be seen eye-balling a member from Jake Paul's team as he strolls past him.

"You know better," he said in the bloke's direction.

"That's my mom. Check that s**t."

It's understood the man in the video is J'Leon Love, who instantly denied saying anything to Woodley's mother.

The duo then went back and forth as security did their best to keep them separated.

"Hell no - we're not sorry," Paul told MMA Junkie directly after the altercation.

"We're not sorry at all. Should we not have done it? Maybe. But we're not sorry."

He added: "I think it's more personal for me too. Just seeing his team act the way they did. He probably is sitting there saying the same thing. He wants to get all gangster.

"But they were also being super disrespectful. My team is being professional. Were they in the wrong? Yeah. But they're never just going to come out of pocket and just act up like that. There had to have been something that built up, then it explodes. Everything is more personal, and I'll make him and his team pay for that."

Paul also went on to talk about the relationship between both fighters' mothers, who have previously been seen chatting harmlessly together at the very first press conference.

"It's really weird," he said.

"They've been friends since they first met in Miami at the first face-off ever. My mom and Tyron's mom, they've sat together and talked. It just seems weird. How did this happen? Everyone got involved and shit talk and accusation and everything going back and forth. It's just messy."
