A teenage sprinter who has grabbed headlines by running the 200m race faster than Usain Bolt at the same age has an important message he reminds himself every day.
Bolt is one of the greatest sprinters of all-time and dominated the 100 and 200m race for almost a decade.
The now 38-year-old recently revealed an opponent once tried to get into his head before an Olympic 100m race, but it was a moment that ultimately led to a gold medal in that event at the 2008 Beijing Games.

He worked hard, with Bolt retiring as the greatest sprinter of all-time.
Many have tried to get to his records, but they have all fallen short. But Australian teenager Gout Gout has already shown that he could breach the Jamaican sprinters record.

Gout Gout has Olympic aspirations
Gout Gout first came in to news when he broke the 200m national record in Australia with a 20.04 time.

The previous record was held by Peter Norman, who ran the 200m race in 20.06 time at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics.
Gout was only 16 when he broke the record and at the point no runner, even Bolt, had ran 200m that quick at his age.
He turned 17 in December 2024 and went on to break his own national record with a 19.84 second time to win the Australian 200m record.
However, the Australian has bigger aspirations. And he has those aspirations saved to the lock screen on his phone to remind him on the daily.

Gout's lock screen is blank, but has a message: "You’re going to be Olympic champion."
The Australian breached the 10 second mark when he clocked a sensational time of 9.99 seconds to win the U20 men's title at the Australian Athletics Championships.
Gout Gout's trainer thinks Olympic gold is inevitable
Gout is trained by Di Sheppard and she did not mince words when asked about Gout's Olympic aspirations.

Speaking to Channel 7’s Spotlight, who were running a dedicated program for Gout, Sheppard said: "I’m not suggesting it. He’s going to go to that level. Olympic gold.
"It might not be ’28 [Olympics in Los Angeles], but definitely going to happen in 2032.”
The 17-year-old has been breaking record in all his races, but winning an Olympic gold is no easy task.
Having already shown what he can do in the 100 and 200m race, plenty will draw comparisons to Bolt. But Gout needs to take things one step at a time as he plots a journey that he hopes will replicate the Jamaican GOAT.
