3D simulation shows how Noah Lyles vs Tyreek Hill race would finish as Olympic star pulls out of challenge

The pair have fired back and forth on social media after Lyles pulled out of a 50-yard race.

A 3D simulation details what could happen if Noah Lyles and Tyreek Hill took part in a race, as the Olympian recently pulled out of the pair’s supposed sprint contest.

Lyles, 27, is the current 100m Olympic champion, having clocked a personal best of 9.79 seconds during last summer’s Paris Olympics.

However, in recent days, the 27-year-old has hit the headlines for the wrong reasons after his highly anticipated 50-yard dash against NFL star Tyreek Hill was cancelled.

"We were very deep into creating the event," Lyles told reporters earlier this week.

"In fact, it was supposed to happen this weekend. Unfortunately, there were some things, complications, personal reasons that it just didn't come to pass, but we were full on. We were going to shut down New York's Times Square and everything, it was going to be a lot of fun."

And it didn’t take Hill long to poke fun at Lyles.

"@LylesNoah after seeing me run the 100m last weekend," Hill posted shortly after the announcement, alongside a picture of Lyles' face on top of Homer Simpson's body, shrinking back into a bush.

This came after Hill previously backed himself to beat Lyles.

"I would beat Noah Lyles," Hill said in August 2024 as per ESPN. "I'm not going to beat him by a lot, but I would beat Noah Lyles. "

Of course, Hill is widely considered to be one the fastest players in the NFL, but how would he fare against the fastest man in the world?

Well, a 3D simulation posted to the MotionAthlete YouTube channel showed exactly how Lyles would perform in a series of races with the Miami Dolphins wide receiver.

In the simulation, Hill’s 40-yard dash time was 4.27 seconds, the exact same as Lyles’, meaning a photo finish would be necessary.

However, when the distance increased, the gulf in speed became more obvious. Lyles clocked a 100m time of 9.78s in the simulation while Hill could only muster a time of 10.14s.

As for the 200m race, Lyles also came out on top with a 19.35s while Hill was almost a second slower, crossing the line in 20.25s.
