It goes without saying, but the Sydney Cricket Ground - the home of the Sydney Swans - is one of the most iconic stadiums in the world. From its classic Ladies Pavilion to the four-level Members Stand, it’s a thing of sheer beauty. The atmosphere is always electric; an indescribable feeling that rips through your body as you watch the Swans play. The home games always boast a sea of red and white supporters who make the sporting arena even more enjoyable.

So with the 2023 AFL season well and truly underway, here’s six reasons why you NEED to experience a Sydney Swans game as a member!

Get your membership RIGHT HERE.

1. Swans members can enjoy fast lane access to the bar

You never want to miss out on the action, however if you’re feeling thirsty then you might want to dash to the bar to pick up some drinks. If you’re a Swans member, then you will have your very own queue that will get those bevvies in your hands faster than you can say ‘mark’. Swans lovers with a membership can also visit the members bar inside Sydney Swans HQ pre or post select games, which is certainly something to get amongst. Oh, and you might just be lucky enough to rub shoulders with some Swans royalty while enjoying a drink in view of the indoor field and gym!

2. Did somebody say Happy Hour?

Not only will you be able to jump ahead of the non-members when you get to the bar, you can also access a sweet, sweet deal. For an hour before the first bounce, everyone in the SCG has the perk of enjoying the beautiful pub tradition of Happy Hour. You'll be able to knock back $9 Furphy’s from every venue in the stadium and you certainly cannot argue with that!

3. There’s no such thing as a bad view at the SCG

Without pointing out the bleeding obvious (get it, bloods? Nevermind) the stadium offers stunning views of all the action from virtually every single angle. Depending on your membership, you will be able get reserved platinum, gold or red zone seats to get the best vantage point. The ‘house recommendation’ is trying the MA Nobel stand (hello Red Zone 11, 5 or 3 memberships in this area). It’s the newest of the SCG stands, and it has great views and great facilities.

4. Yep, looks like I got carried away with the food again…

If you didn’t know, now you do – Merivale is the official food supplier for the Sydney Swans’ home. So yes, that means you can take your pick from Queen Chow dumplings, cheeseburger spring rolls, Jimmy’s Falafel, sushi and even pizza. Basically, to put it simply, there’s so much food on offer to line your stomach while watching the Swans in action. Although we must add, if you do still fancy a classic Four’n Twenty pie with tommy sauce, then that’s still on offer, of course.

5. I’m a busy bee, I need some flexibility

There’s nothing worse than spending money on memberships but being unable to attend due to other commitments. Fear not, the Swans have got you covered! Thankfully, the Swans Pass Membership option gives you 11 tickets to use however you'd like across the season - use them all on one game, or pick off a few of the major clashes to attend.

So if you fancy dipping into the odd game with a few friends, that’s more than alright by them. Or if you and ten mates have got your sights set on a colossal Sydney derby against the GWS Giants or even another grudge match against Collingwood to book their spot in the grand final, then put your tickets towards that.

Plus, members always have the option to forward their tickets to family or friends when they can’t make it. That makes the commitment of a full season membership feel like a no brainer!

6. I fancy being boujee, what’s on offer?

Whether it’s hosting clients, showing off to the annoying in-laws or having a boozy day out with mates, a box at the Sydney Swans is perfect for any occasion – and easier to navigate than you’d think. Packages on the Sydney Swans’ website gives members the chance to access eight-seat outdoor or undercover boxes for home games. With catered options available, there's cocktail-style food served pre-match and half-time with beer, wine, and soft drink flowing throughout. Grub and grog aside, the view of the game is like nothing you’ve ever witnessed.
