Chelsea's stance on Manchester United's Christian Pulisic loan interest revealed

Chelsea’s stance on loaning Christian Pulisic to Manchester United this summer has been revealed.

Chelsea’s stance on loaning Christian Pulisic to Manchester United this summer has been revealed.

The American has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge during the transfer window as he seeks first team football ahead of the World Cup at the end of the year.

Newcastle United have asked the Blues to keep them informed regarding the situation of Pulisic among other attackers as they look to add to Eddie Howe’s squad.

Last season, Pulisic was frustrated by his lack of playing time and this resulted in his father taking to social media to criticise Thomas Tuchel’s selection decisions.

When asked about this last season, as quoted by ESPN, Tuchel said: "I am not concerned if a father says that a player does not love me. I am not concerned about that. For sure not.

"It is a normal thing (if players are frustrated).

"Like every manager, we have our reasons to choose lineups and we have our reasons to go for players in the first XI.

“And you will never see at this level of competition happy faces from players who are not selected.

"Between me and Christian exists zero problem.

"For him and everyone else, this has nothing to do with any tweet or any reaction from agents or fathers.

"I didn't even know it because I do not want my judgement to get affected by it because it has nothing to do with it.”

The latest reports have linked Pulisic with a move to Manchester United, who are looking to add to Erik ten Hag’s squad after a poor start to the season.

While Pulisic is thought to be open to the move in order to secure more minutes ahead of the 2022 World Cup with the USMNT, Chelsea’s stance has now been revealed.

According to Alistair Magowan, Chelsea would not be willing to loan Pulisic to Man United.

This is because the Red Devils are seen as a ‘traditional rival’ to the Blues, with Tuchel’s side not wishing to strengthen them.

Despite starting the season with back-to-back defeats, United were thought to be a challenger for the Champions League places this season and the Blues do not wish to give them a player to help them push for these.

It remains to be seen as to whether Pulisic will be allowed to leave this summer.
