Chelsea Very Interested In France Star Who Is Available For Transfer This Summer

Chelsea are believed to be interested in signing Adrien Rabiot from Juventus this summer, according to reports.

Thomas Tuchel’s side are already preparing for the new season as they look to win their first Premier League title since 2017.

With Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital recently completing their takeover of the club, the Blues could be ready to spend big in the transfer window, with fresh faces expected to come in ahead of their next campaign.

One player that has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge is Rabiot, who has just completed his third season at Juventus after joining from Paris Saint-Germain in 2019.

According to Foot Mercato, Chelsea are interested in signing the 27-year-old this summer.

Fellow Premier League sides Newcastle United and Everton are also believed to be keen on the midfielder, who is set to depart Turin this summer.

However he revealed that he has not yet spoken to the club regarding his future, despite the speculation as to whether or not he will remain at the Serie A giants beyond the transfer window.

He said: “I haven't discussed it with the club. I try not to deal with these things right now. I try to be focused on the France team, I let my agent do it. 

“I am under contract with Juve, nothing indicates that I will leave, Rabiot first launched, before specifying. Compared to the World Cup, it's not something that would impact my decision if I were to leave the club. It would not fit in my choice.”

However Sky Italia have reported that he is set to leave in the coming weeks amid the interest from the aforementioned Premier League sides.

Rabiot broke into the first team at PSG ahead of the 2012/13 season, before being sent out on loan to Toulouse in January for the remainder of the campaign.

He then returned to his parent club and spent six seasons at the Ligue 1 side before making the move to Juventus, having made 227 appearances for the Parisians in all competitions.

Since his arrival in Turin, the French international has featured 129 times for the Old Lady, with six goals and six assists to his name.

With Rabiot potentially arriving at Chelsea this summer, one of their current midfield options could leave in return ahead of the new season.

Lazio, who are currently managed by former Blues boss Maurizio Sarri, are believed to be keen on signing Ruben Loftus-Cheek this summer, with the 26-year-old featuring regularly at Chelsea in the season just gone.
