Armando Broja is closing in on a permanent move to West Ham after requesting to leave the Chelsea squad in America to fly back to England to finalise his future, according to reports.

Talks are ongoing between Chelsea and West Ham for the 20-year-old this summer and they are quickly progressing as David Moyes looks to land his number summer transfer target.

Broja, who scored six goals during his loan spell at Southampton last season, has also received interest from Everton and Newcastle United, but a switch to the London Stadium is looking increasingly likely.

West Ham are confident of landing the Albania international, as per reports, and although Chelsea are thought to prefer a loan deal, a permanent deal is now looking likely.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, it will be a permanent deal. Talks on the final details - potential buy-back clause and add-ons - are still ongoing between the two clubs.

The Chelsea forward is 'now pushing' for a move to east London after flying back to England on Sunday, leaving the pre-season squad in the United States early as they jetted to Orlando from Las Vegas after their 2-1 win over Club America at the Allegiant Stadium.

Broja picked up an injury during training in Los Angeles which saw his absent from the win, however it was revealed that Broja wasn't part of the travelling squad to Orlando as he headed back to England.

Now, Nathan Gissing reports that it was Broja's decision to ask to leave the team to resolve his future.

Broja and his camp don't want to another permanent deal, with Ben Jacobs stating that talks were held with Thomas Tuchel who reiterated their desire of not wanting to sell him.

He is considered to be 'unsettled' and is claimed to be 'relieved' once his future is fully resolved.

Last week, after his injury absence was confirmed, Tuchel insisted Broja wasn't for sale amid transfer interest.

"Armando is our player first of all and we have, at the moment, no interest in selling him," admitted Tuchel.

"He is here to make an impression after he was on loan in Southampton.

“That's his situation from where we look up front. It's good if there's interest as it shows us there's talent and potential.

"It shows us that Armando is in the position to impress and become a Chelsea player. When will he become a Chelsea player? Nobody knows but hopefully as soon as possible.

“He got injured and there's a delay for him, which is never nice because a young player should normally make an impression from the first minute in pre-season.

"Now we have a bit of a delay in that but that's the situation.”
