Autocratic bids to follow Theresa May's lead at Newmarket.

Day two of the Craven meeting and this again looks a tough day to find winners but I have had a go anyway.

Here are my selections for Newmarket. My other fancies for the rest of the meetings around Britain no Wednesday can be found here.

The selections are as follows...

Autocratic bids to follow Theresa May's lead at Newmarket

1:50: Newmarket - Normandy Barriere 6/1 Each Way and Reputation 11/2 Each Way (1/4, bet365).

William Buick is unbeaten on Normandy Barriere and operates at a 67% strike-rate for this trainer. Runs pretty well fresh and has a good chance in what looks a competitive event.

As this is so competitive, I also like Reputation for John Quinn and Ryan Moore, who wears a visor. Has to defy a career high mark but looks to have good chance here. he showed on his last two starts and he has a chance here.

2:25: Newmarket - Rodaini 13/2 Each Way (1/4, bet365).

This looks very competitive but Simon Crisford's charge was better than he showed on his last two runs, with the latter coming at the Breeders Cup. I think he remains one with potential and has a good shout here.

3:00: Newmarket - Autocratic 6/1 Each Way (1/4, bet365).

Improving with racing and in the right hands. Has to improve from handicaps to win this but might just be capable of doing just that.

3:35: Newmarket - Sea Of Grace 9/2.

Rumours have been strong for this filly who has her first start for William Haggas since leaving John Oxx's yard in Ireland. Won a Group Three at the Curragh on her last start and she could be a really fine prospect.

4:10: Newmarket - Formidable Kitt 2/1.

You're basically taking this on reputation and breeding and with Tom Dascombe saddling the winner of this event last year, I'll side with his daughter of Invincible Spirit whose mother (Ceiling Kitty) won the Group Two Queen Mary as a two-year-old so she should be straight enough for this.

4:45: Newmarket - Glittering Jewel 4/1 Each Way and Vice Versa 6/1 Each Way (1/4, bet365).

Charlie Appleby's Glittering Jewel is well related and she is entitled to run well for a yard who always do well in these races. Vice Versa did not look that straightforward here when ninth in October, but she should have learnt a lot from that.

5:20: Newmarket - First Nation 7/2 and Middle Kingdom 9/1 Each Way (1/4, bet365).

I tipped up First Nation at Doncaster last time and he got beat on the line there. He remains entered in the Derby and he might just be able to reverse that form. Middle Kingdom has to improve from a maiden win at Newcastle in November but this War Front colt will like the ground and holds an entry in the Dante.

32/1 Each Way Double

3:00: Newmarket - Autocratic

5:20: Newmarket - First Nation
