We had a couple of nice winners at Newmarket on day two of the Craven meeting yesterday and here are today's selections for the feature day of the meeting, which sees the one mile G3 Craven Stakes take centre stage.

1:50: Newmarket - Victory Angel 2/1.

Won well at Doncaster last time and looks suited by six furlongs. Should improve for switch to handicap company.

2:25: Newmarket - Accession 6/1 Each Way (1/4, 2 places).

Winner of this event off a 9lb lower mark last year and he should be fit enough to do himself justice here.

3:00: Newmarket - Brando 5/4.

Kevin Ryan's charge could prove a cut above here as he finished a cracking third in the G1 QIPCO British Champions Sprint Stakes at Ascot in October. That was a superb run and if he were to run up to that form, he would be hard to beat here on his seasonal reappearance.

3:35: Newmarket - War Decree 9/4 Newmarket NAP.

Aidan O'Brien had a winner at racing's HQ yesterday and this colt could be very decent in my opinion. I was at Glorious Goodwood when War Decree justified strong support in the G2 Qatar Vintage Stakes to score by a length and three-quarters. He will enjoy the step up to a mile and he came clear of his rivals in taking fashion that day. The runner-up that day Thunder Snow won a G1 at Meydan last time and I am very keen on his chances here.

4:10: Newmarket - Manaahil 2/1.

Lovely run to finish second at Kempton on her debut and the switch to turf should bring about further improvement.

4:45: Newmarket - Hold Sway 15/8 and Grieg Hall 11/1 Each Way (1/4, bet365).

Hold Sway ran well to finish third at Doncaster last time behind a smart looking sort. Grieg Hall is a son of Halling and whilst his pedigree is nothing out of the ordinary he makes interest for the in-form John Gosden.

5:20: Newmarket - Tricorn 9/4 and Marzouq 20/1 Each Way (1/4, 4 places).

Tricorn was very impressive when winning at Newcastle last time and whilst he has to defy a 10lb rise, he looks capable of doing just that. Marzouq was well beaten in second behind Tricorn last time but he hasn't been given the same rise in the weights obviously and is in the care of a canny handler.

13/2 Win Double

3:00: Newmarket - Brando

3:35: Newmarket - War Decree
