Khabib Nurmagomedov has set up a press conference that could see sparks flying by mocking Conor McGregor on social media, just hours before the pair will come face to face to discuss UFC 229.

We are just 16 days away from Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor facing off at UFC 229 inside the octagon. The pair will meet tonight in a press conference that threatens to be as explosive as some fights.

It's not like McGregor is known for staying quiet when he's got a microphone in front of him. His highlights reel from press conferences is as famous as some fighters highlight reel from their fights.

What's more is this time the two already have a very heated rivalry following several near fights and the famous moment from days before Khabib's last fight when McGregor arrived at the arena and started throwing things at the bus that the Russian was on.

So everyone was already expecting that things at Radio City Music Hall in New York would be ready to boil over this evening, without Khabib adding fuel to the potential fire.

The lightweight world champion took to Twitter and posted a video of his opponent speaking to previous press conferences but with the Irishman's voice being dubbed over with the sound of a chicken:

The last time McGregor had a fight was last August and that was his one time boxing match with Floyd Mayweather, when he got stopped in the 10th round by the man whose record reads 50-0.

His absence from the octagon is much longer. The last time the Notorious was involved in an MMA fight was nearly two years ago when he stopped Eddie Alvarez to win the lightweight title.

With the 30 year old inactive since then he's been stripped of the title which Khabib in turn won by beating Al Iaquinta back in April, although he was originally supposed to fight Tony Ferguson for the belt.

Khabib is unbeaten and the Russian could well be McGregor's most difficult opponent to date when they face in Las Vegas on October 6th.

Who do you think will win, McGregor or Khabib?
