Andy Carroll could be set for a sensational return to Newcastle United, according to Ladbrokes.
The West Ham striker has this weekend been linked with a move back to the north-east, and the bookies have slashed odds of that happening this summer from 10/1 to just 3/1.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: "Newcastle have been relatively quite in the transfer window up to this point, but a move for Carroll could kick-start plenty of activity in the north-east in the next 10 days or so."
Meanwhile, Chelsea are reportedly plotting a Southampton raid, with Virgil van Dijk priced as the most likely player to swap St Mary's for Stamford Bridge (3/1), while Cedric Soares and Ryan Bertrand are 7/2 and 4/1 respectively to follow suit.
