ODDSbible MMA: UFC 214 Card Betting Preview

This fight card is STACKED.

The octagon returns to Anaheim, California for the first time since February 2013 with the strongest, deepest and exciting fight card of the year as Daniel Cormier takes on Jon Jones in one of the most highly anticipated rematches in the history of the sport, with the light heavyweight title on the line.

If that's not enough to whet your appetite, the UFC brass have decided to give us another two title fights with the welterweight title up for grabs as Tyron Woodley looks to retain his crown against jiu-jitsu specialist Demian Maia. Cris Cyborg also looks to seal gold as she takes on Tonya Evinger for the vacant women's featherweight championship.

Still not impressed? How about Robbie Lawler and Donald Cerrone slugging it out in what should be a barnstormer of a fight, with both men known for leaving their all inside the octagon. It may just be a shame that this fight only lasts three rounds.

Rounding off the main card is British light heavyweight contender Jimi Manuwa, taking on Volkan Oezdemir as he looks to secure his position to be the next in line for a shot at the light heavyweight title.

This fight card is stacked! Our man Darren Russell (@DRussellMMA) looks at the bets to make on the biggest night of the year in mixed martial arts, though it's worth taking a look at our special Cormier v Jones II preview here.

Over 3.5 KO's/TKO's - 6/5 at SkyBet

With a considerable amount of knockout power on display, I think this represents great value, especially given that we have nine fights on the card (the bet is only for the televised bouts).

Jimi Manuwa and Volkan Oezdemir both share a history of finishing fights, with 88% of the Brit's fights ending by KO/TKO whilst Oezdemir has an also high finishing rate of 71%. Cris Cyborg also possesses petrifying knockout power and has won her last seven bouts by stoppage, with only two of those lasting longer than the first round.

Tyron Woodley should also be looking towards a KO/TKO victory over Demian Maia, as he will be keen to keep this fight standing. The likes of Andre Fili and Robbie Lawler could also add to this tally and I expect to hit four stoppages before Jones and Cormier walk out.

Cris Cyborg vs. Tonya Evinger

Cris Cyborg to win in Round 2 - 11/2 at BetVictor

She might just be the scariest woman on the planet. Cris Cyborg finally joined the UFC last year and now has the opportunity to seal the featherweight title in her third octagon outing.

The Brazilian held the both the Strikeforce and Invicta featherweight titles and hasn't lost in twelve years, since her mixed martial arts debut. Her opponent in Tonya Evinger has won seven fights in succession, but has never fought at featherweight.

She was defeated by Raquel Pennington in the opening fight of the Ultimate Figher Season 18 and the odds are stacked against her on Saturday evening. Cyborg is just 1/2 to win in Round 1! I feel Evinger lasting to the second round represents decent value.

Renan Barao vs. Aljamain Sterling

Renan Barao to win by decision - 7/4 at William Hill

When Renan Barao won his first seven outings, he was expected to rule the bantamweight division for the years to come. TJ Dillashaw then caused one of the biggest upsets in the history of the UFC by stopping Barao in the fifth round before then defeating him in a rematch also.

An unsuccessful move to featherweight then followed with a loss to Jeremy Stephens followed by a victory over Phillipe Nover. The Brazilian attempted to move back to bantamweight, before the California State Athletic Commission vetoed the move due to the his health. Aljamian Sterling will meet him at a catchweight of 140lbs.

Sterling is considered to be a prospect in the division but seems to fall short when the big names come into contention. He lost narrow decision victories to Bryan Caraway and Raphael Assuncao before defeating Augusto Mendes earlier this year.

What sways fights in Sterling's favour is his takedowns, which Barao is a master of defending, having never been taken down whilst in the UFC. You have to look back to 2010 at WEC 49 for the last time he was taken down.

I think Barao will outpoint Sterling in a close fight.
