Mark Hughes has been sacked by Southampton following their 2-2 draw at home to Man United.

The Saints went 2-0 up thanks to goals from Stuart Armstrong and Cedric Soares. However, Southampton's joy was short lived as goals from Lukaku and Herrera brought United level.

Hughes becomes the second Premier League manager of the season to be shown the door after the Cottagers dismissed Slavisa Jokanovic last month.

The weekend results saw Southampton drop into the relegation zone having only won one Premier League game all season.

Southampton's only win in the league came on the 1st September as they beat Crystal Palace 2-0.

Hughes took over the south coast side back in March when he signed a short-term contract until the end of last season.

However, he was offered a three-year deal as he managed to keep them in the Premier League and led them to the FA Cup semi-final, although their poor start to the season has seen him shown the door.

Former Watford manager Quique Sanchez Flores is installed as the favourite to take over at 8/11. Former RB Leipzig boss Ralph Hasenhuttl is second favourite at 5/2 with Paulo Sousa and Garry Monk 10/1 and 14/1 respectively to take the hot seat.
