Bloomberg Business claim that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is considering the sale of the London club.
The American News organisation are also reporting that the multi-billionaire has already rejected a £2.3bn bid for the club. The offer would have been a world-record fee for any sporting club.
However, it is understood that the Russian would only be willing to sell the Blues for a fee of three billion.
The reports come as Abramovich, who has owned Chelsea since 2003, is getting increasingly frustrated with British visa problems.

It is understood that the Russian has hired New York based Raine Group LLC to assist with the sale of the club.
Since the 51-year-old bought Chelsea for £140million, they have been extremely successful winning 15 trophies in as many years.
Abramovich has become a fan favourite at Stamford Bridge and was regularly seen attending matches, however, the Russian has not been seen at the Bridge for months.
We contacted various bookmakers to get odds on Abramovich cashing out, but they refused to give us a price.
