The Dolphins haven’t even touched a ball in the NRL yet and are already copping stick from fans and legends alike.
The latest chapter to draw a flurry of criticism from the rugby league community surrounds the club’s inaugural playing jersey.
The Redcliffe side unveiled their strip for their debut season at the NRL Grand Final on Sunday in front of Accor Stadium.

And it’s safe to say that they may need to find a new designer.
With a colourway of bright red and beige, the kit has become the laughing stock of the NRL world.

Jokes and criticism have understandably come flying in.
NRL great Scott Sandler slammed the jersey on SEN Brisbane and compared it to the iconic jersey failure from the Gold Coast Crushers in 1995.
He said, as per Fox Sports: “It’s horrible. Honestly, it’s a horrible jersey.
“I gotta say, it’s like when the Crushers first came into the comp and their jersey was a colour many said was baby poo. Some said it was mustard. But the actual colour was Aztec gold.

“I’m not a fan.”
Him and everyone else.
Fans online were even more brutal.
One fan tweeted: “Who hired the designer for the Dolphins jersey? Are they fired yet?”

Another commented: “The new Dolphins jersey looks like a bottle of Vanilla Coke.”
A third added: “Beginning to understand why the Dolphins buried their jersey reveal on GF day now.”
I mean they could’ve waited to have their own jersey reveal moment that wasn’t overshadowed by the Grand Final.
But it was probably the right idea to avoid that.
Dolphins chief executive Terry Reader said in a statement: “It was an exciting moment to have the 2023 Dolphins home jersey unveiled at the NRL Grand Final.

“This has been the culmination of 75 years of history for the Dolphins club and a lot of hard work in the past year building a club that is primed to enter the NRL.
“We thank all of our commercial partners for their faith in backing us in our debut season, and are excited for our members and fans as they look towards our first game in March next year.”
The jersey was also swamped with logos from partners Adventure Kings, BlueBet, Budge Direct, The Cove, and Foxi Invest.
