Klay Thompson Had An Absolutely Mental Monday After Helping Golden State Warriors To NBA Championship Win

Klay Thompson lost his championship hat in the ocean, lost his ring in the street and knocked over a fan at the parade in the same day.

Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson had an eventful Monday after winning the NBA Championship for the fourth time.

Warriors beat Boston Celtic in six games to win the 2022 finals and it was a stellar showing from Thompson, who joined Steph Curry and LeBron James as the only players to score more than 100 three-pointers on the championship stage in game five.

The five-time NBA All-Star came up clutch and was in the mood for celebrating the triumph. But things got a bit out of hand for the 32-year-old.

Warriors staged their parade and Thompson had a boat ride across San Francisco Bay to get to it.

He livestreamed his journey on Instagram page and captured the hilarious moment his championship hat flew off and fell right into the ocean.

Thompson held a short funeral for the fallen hat, saying: "RIP hat. Keepin' it real goes wrong, people. That's why you gotta strap it in tight. The captain's hat is nice for that. Gosh dangit. Aw, it hurts. That hurts."

He ended up with another hat though, turning up with the captain's cap and looking like the real deal.

That was only the start of the chaos, however. At the parade, placed the trophy on the floor and did his best Michael Jackson impression - dancing like the smooth criminal he is.

He then ended up accidentally knocking a female fan to the floor after stumbling over himself, apologising to her and bring the woman to her feet after his 6ft 6 frame knocked her into next week.

What's more, Thompson very nearly lost one of his championship rings in the street after dropping it.

When he grabbed the mic, he also had a very plain story that had teammates Curry and Draymond Green in absolute stitches.

Thompson has rewritten the book on how to celebrate success.
