Khabib Nurmagomedov names his 'top 15 MMA GOATs', there's one glaring omission

It'll come as no surprise to see that one of Khabib's most bitter rivals is absent from his list, of course.

Khabib Nurmagomedov has left sports fans divided after revealing his 'MMA GOAT Top 15' on social media.

And it'll come as no surprise to see that one of his most bitter rivals is absent from the list, of course.

It's not often we see current or recently-retired mixed martial artists give us their list of GOATs – they often shy away from the debate altogether.

So what prompted Khabib to suddenly decide to send the internet into meltdown with his list of greats is beyond us.

That said, it's interesting to see who - in his eyes - is the greatest of all-time.

Taking to Twitter, Khabib posted: "My MMA GOAT top 15: 1) Fedor/Jones 2) GSP 3) Anderson Silva 4) Demetrious Johnson 5) Daniel Cormier 6) Henry Cejudo 7) Jose Aldo 8) Kamaru Usman 9) Adesanya 10) BJPENN 11) Royce Gracie 12) Couture/Velasquez 13) Hendo/Shogun 14) CroCop/Miocic 15) Dominic Cruz/Frankie Edgar."

Despite only being live for a matter of hours, the tweet instantly blew up, sparking a rush of fans to the comments section of his post.

While some agreed with his top 15, others were quick to call out the former lightweight champion for his one glaring omission.

One person replied: "What about Conor McGregor?"

While another added: "McGregor should be part of the list! Dont be too salty... let it go..."

And one commented: "I get hating Conor but it makes no sense for him not to be in a top 10 let alone top 15 ranking."

As a fourth said: "It's a good list, but by excluding Conor it means you never defeated any all-time great fighters."

While McGregor's form in recent years has slipped, it's hard to deny that he didn't change the game.

The first fighter in UFC history to hold two belts simultaneously, his trash-talk outside the octagon and KOs inside it arguably helped catapult the sport into superstardom.

Although it seems the Irishman's deep-seated feud with Khabib, one which is still the highest-earning PPV events in UFC history, hasn't been forgotten by the undefeated Russian.

However, interestingly, Khabib left his own name off the list – a show of his modest nature.

One person who noticed it said: "Very humble to leave yourself off the list. Them Dagestani boys built different."

As another added: "Bro is so humble he didn’t put himself in the top 15 list."

Meanwhile, some fans threw out names of other fighters who were missing from the list, including Amanda Nunes, Matt Hughes, Ken Shamrock, Tito Ortiz and Forrest Griffin.

Rather hilariously, one person simply said: "This really came out of nowhere, I never thought Khabib would post this on Twitter."
