Conor McGregor slammed for sharing image of his mother in 'black face' for Halloween

McGregor posted the image to Instagram.

Conor McGregor has come under fire for sharing a photo of his mother wearing 'black face' at Halloween.

The UFC megastar shared a series of photos to his Instagram page documenting his and his family's costumes.

Included is his mother, Margaret, who can be seen wearing dark face paint and a red dress. McGregor's sister, Erin, shared another picture which showed her wearing a necklace with three skulls on it.

The dress also features a piece of animal print cloth across the front and bones along the neckline.

Some social media users are outraged at the images, sharing their thoughts on social media in recent days.

One person said: ""Nobody else seeing the black face paint on the lady at the end? Wtf?"

Another tweeted: "Did Conor McGregor really post his mother wearing black face?"

Someone put: "Do yourself a favour. Don't Google 'Conor McGregor's mother black face'."

While a fourth tweeted: "Today, in what are the McGregor’s doing; it’s black face. Why anyone gives this family airtime is beyond me."

A spokesperson for McGregor told LADbible Group of the costume: "The McGregor family loves Halloween. Mrs McGregor had spiders painted on her face since her costume was a ghoul risen from the grave.

"Any other interpretation was just wrong and truly unfortunate."

McGregor dressed as Frank Abagnale, a con artist played by Leonardo DiCaprio in 2002 smash-hit Catch Me If You Can.

'The Notorious' also shaved his iconic beard for the costume, which caught many off guard.

McGregor has been out of action since breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier back in July 2021.

His return date is currently unknown, with a number of fighters keen to take on the former 'Champ-champ'.

Controversial influencer and former kickboxer Andrew Tate recently claimed he would need to have a 'personal problem' with the Irishman to take the fight.

"That's an interesting one, I guess," Tate told Rob Moore. ""I mean he is still in his prime, I'm a lot bigger than him. He is very good, very capable.

"We would certainly have a lot of good trash talk. It would make a lot of money but again I would need a personal problem with him to fight him.

"I have nothing against Conor, kind of like the guy so there would have to be a good reason."
