Best player in the world until he got injured. He was *that* good. https://t.co/HFs8hjBVsh
One of the most disrespected footballers of all time. Rooney was different, special and the best English player I’ve lived to see. If you don’t feel the same then you’re either too young, or don’t know ball. https://t.co/mdrcg6EhO6— Will Swift (@Godwillaswift) June 22, 2022
One wrote: "Mad the disrespects he gets from football fans. One of the greatest, if not the greatest, this country has ever produced."
A second tweeted: "I really refuse to believe that there's any English player better than Wayne Mark Rooney!"
A third added: "People forget just how good he was. Miles better than the big time youngsters these days."
Wayne Rooney. What a player.
