Tottenham Linked With Biggest Deal Of The Summer

Tottenham Linked With Biggest Deal Of The Summer

Noooo, surely not...

The transfer window the one thing football managers would get rid of quicker than the technical area that stops them roaming where they like but the one thing that we as fans love more than anything. If nothing else just because the closing of the window fills us with hope and dejection. As Spurs fans are about to feel.

The window slams shut, as they like to tell us on Sky Sports whilst wearing yellow ties, on Wednesday at 11pm. That means there's plenty of time for last minute deals, medicals in the dark, dodgy fax machines and purple dildos.

The Mirror today think the biggest end of window deal is going to be in North London and surprisingly not with Arsenal. No, apparently Spurs are on the verge of a loan move for Real Madrid star Isco. To be honest I'm not sure about this one.

The rumour is all to do with Los Blancos apparently needing to trim their squad down and get rid of either the Spaniard or Colombia's James Rodriguez. However Florentino Perez' love of Rodriguez, or the shirt sales from South America he generates, means it'll be the former Malaga man to go and Spurs' 'special relationship' with Real means he'll be headed to White Hart Lane.

It's fair to say the fans are a mixture of excited and sarcastically cynical:

The deal would supposedly be on loan with the possibility to make it permanent at the end of the season.

We won't hold our breaths but stranger things have happened on deadline day.
