TalkSPORT Presenter Says Manchester United Have 'Nine Days To Save The Club' In Impassioned Speech

TalkSPORT Presenter Says Manchester United Have 'Nine Days To Save The Club' In Impassioned Speech

Manchester United's problems are so bad that they have 'nine days to save the club' by buying 'four or five players,' according to talkSPORT's Andy Goldstein, following their loss to Burnley.

The 2-0 loss on Wednesday night, which kept United six points off the top four, was their eighth league defeat of the season and the full time whistle was met with boos from fans who had been singing anti Glazer and anti Ed Woodward songs all game.

After the match talkSPORT presenter Goldstein went on air and gave an impassioned plea to the Glazers and Woodward to go out and spend money in the January transfer window.

Whilst the Red Devils have been criticised for the amount of money they've spent in recent years they have failed to bring in a midfielder in the past year despite losing Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera.

Injuries to Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay have shown how short of quality they are in midfield whilst the same issue exists upfront where Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku were allowed to leave without a replacement and Marcus Rashford is now injured for a couple of months.

Daniel James was brought in the summer and despite a good start to the season his form has understandably dipped, as a young player making his debut season in the top tier.

Solskjaer, and predecessor Jose Mourinho, were both desperate for a centre back and the club signed Harry Maguire for a world record £80 million but the new club captain came under criticism for his part in Burnley's opener through Chris Wood on Wednesday.

Only Aaron Wan-Bissaka has enjoyed a debut season with little complaint about his performance and right back might be the only position on the pitch the club can be 100% satisfied with.

The Premier League side have been linked with a move for Sporting playmaker Bruno Fernandes throughout the transfer window but the two clubs have failed to reach an agreement.

Since Rashford's injury was confirmed the manager admitted the club would look for a short term replacement but there hasn't been any news on any incoming strikers.

It's clear that United need more investment in the playing squad but whether it comes or not is a different matter.
