West Ham aren't wasting any time in building upon an impressive first season under Slaven Bilic. No sooner had the 2015/16 season ended than the Hammers were being linked with big money moves for several of Europe's top strikers. And it looks as if David Gold and David Sullivan have found their man.
Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio is reporting that West Ham bid 20m Euros for AC Milan's Colombian striker, Carlos Bacca, who only arrived at the San Siro at the beginning of the season, scoring 20 goals in his debut campaign for the struggling Rossoneri. The Serie A giants have knocked back the East London club's initial approach but have encouraged another offer for their star player, setting their asking price at 25m Euros.
The price is, of course, well within the Hammers' budget and will likely see them return with an improved offer for the 29-year-old who cost the Rossoneri 30m euros one year ago.
Advert
If this is just the beginning of Slaven Bilic's summer spending, West Ham's debut season in the Olympic Stadium should prove to be very entertaining, indeed.
