Would this be good business for Manchester United?

Jose Mourinho has made it pretty clear that his sole interest in life right now if the Europa League final against Ajax but according to reports he's also got one eye on next season's signings.

Mourinho's team selection in the Premier League recently, and their performances, have suggested that he really doesn't care about the league right now.

That's because United have looked incapable of catching the top four and qualifying for the Champions League pretty much all season, even in their long unbeaten run.

But even with a Europa League victory and a place in next season's Champions League the Red Devils are in desperate need of improvement in the league in the 2017/18 campaign.

In typical fashion the Old Trafford club have been linked with plenty of big money moves already and according to Spanish newspaper Sport they are set to beat Barcelona to a big money signing.

The paper reckon that United will bid £60 million for PSG defender Marquinhos and that will be enough to beat the La Liga side to his signing.

Both clubs have long been linked with the 23 year old Brazilian but Sport say that the French side don't want to sell such an important player to a Champions League rival.

That's a bit of an insult to United should they qualify for the competition and sign the centre-back but it's probably a fair reflection of where they currently are.

Barca are believed to have offered £42 million but that's clearly well short of what the Premier League club are willing to offer.

The defender is believed to have already met with PSG director of football Patrick Kluivert and said that he won't sign a new deal in the French capital.
