Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang looks certain to move to Arsenal in this transfer window and maybe his arrival can be credited into pushing his soon to be teammates into a top performance against Crystal Palace but how is it affecting Dortmund?

There's something a little unnerving about Arsene Wenger spending €60 million on an exciting forward, especially when it's only months ago that he spent a similar fee on Alexandre Lacazette but it's actually going to happen.

What makes the whole situation with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang even more incredible is it's actually Wenger acting decisively to replace the goals he'll lose from Alexis Sanchez leaving for Manchester United.

How much have strikers changed since our list of the top 10 best in 2016:

These are not traits shown by the modern Arsene Wenger. Maybe it all contributed to the Gunners running roughshod over Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon, being 4-0 up after just 22 minutes.

It seems though that it might be having the opposite effect for Borussia Dortmund who could only draw with Hertha Berlin on Friday. Talking about the impending sale of his teammate Andre Schurrle told, via the Daily Mail, how exactly they'd reacted to the move, saying:

"It's been a big issue in the team. It's caused unrest and left us shaking our heads. It hasn't been easy to concentrate on football because there's only been one topic off the pitch.

"...It would be better for everyone if it happens quickly."

The former Chelsea forward suggested the move was done by revealing him and his teammates had tried to persuade the Gabonese forward to stay, adding, "We've often tried to influence him in team meetings. When you talk to him, he's a great guy. Everything seems ok, but you never know what's going on in his head."

Would Aubameyang displace anyone in the Arsenal what might have been XI?

It's quite strange that the Dortmund squad have been effected so deeply in this way by the former AC Milan forward moving on considering he has been suspended three times by his club in just over a year for missing training.

Will Aubameyang be a good signing for Arsenal?
