Surprise Team Look To Beat Newcastle United And West Ham United To Jesse Lingard Signing

Surprise Team Look To Beat Newcastle United And West Ham United To Jesse Lingard Signing

Lingard is expected to leave Manchester United this month with Newcastle and West Ham leading the race to his signature up until now.

Jesse Lingard has a new suitor, as one club hope to beat Newcastle United and West Ham to the signing of the Manchester United star.

Lingard has been a bit part player at United all season, despite turning down the possibility of moving permanently last summer, with West Ham interested.

The 29-year-old is yet to start a league game for either Ole Gunnar Solskjaer or Ralf Rangnick this season, and it's no wonder he's been linked with a move away.

Newcastle are said to be ready to make a loan bid for the England international, who is out of contract in the summer, which West Ham have also been linked, after his brilliant loan spell this time last year.

However, now another team are in the picture, with Ligue 1 side Nice interested in taking Lingard on loan until the end of the season, according to Foot Mercato.

The report claims that the French side tried to bring him to the south coast last year, before his fruitful move to West Ham went through.

It also says that manager Christophe Galtier has personally recommended to signing to the club, and is hoping signing the Premier League player can help their push for a Champions League spot.

Galtier won the league with Lille last season, beating PSG to the top of Ligue 1, before leaving to join Nice, and he's once again impressing.

His team are currently second in the league, having finished down in ninth last term, and are currently two points clear of rivals Marseille, who have a game in hand.

Whilst the club might struggle with the finances to bring Lingard in, the manager might be able to persuade them to pay the asking price in order to push for that second place finish.

Lingard isn't the only forward player at Old Trafford who wants out this month, with Anthony Martial also expected to depart Ralf Rangnick's side.

The French forward was perhaps a surprise substitute on Saturday, with United struggling against fellow top four chasers West Ham.

Martial was part of the build up to the late winner for the hosts, as Marcus Rashford slotted home following Edinson Cavani's assist, with many questioning if the Uruguayan was offside.
