Maurizio Sarri finally won his first trophy as a manager a year ago today when Chelsea beat Arsenal and his reaction to getting his hands on a medal is enough to warm the heart.

29 years and 19 clubs into his managerial career Maurizio Sarri finally won his first trophy after managing Chelsea to their Europa League victory over Arsenal in 2019.

After an astonishing career in Italy, where he started at the bottom of the football pyramid, he finally managed to win some silverware thanks to second half goals from Olivier Giroud, Pedro and two for Eden Hazard against and the look on his face when he received his medal will make you smile:

It was somewhat crazy that the Italian managed to land the job at Chelsea before having won any silverware but such was his impressive work with Napoli.

In Italy he came as close to anyone to beating Juventus to the title in the last eight years, proved by the fact that the Old Lady's margin over the Naples side increased from four points to 11 after the Italian left for England.

The 61-year-old's time at Stamford Bridge incredibly only lasted a year, despite success in the Europa League, finishing fourth in the league and getting to the Carabao Cup final, but the manager and club came to a mutual agreement for him to leave at the end of last season.

He did enough in west London, as well as his success in Naples, to earn a move to Juventus, with Max Allegri ending his spell in Turin last summer.

There has been questions over Sarri's time at the Allianz Stadium already this season, with the Old Lady struggling to defend their title with rivals Inter starting the season so well under former Juve and Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.

However before the break in the league Juventus beat the Nerazzurri in the Derby d'Italia to regain top spot in the league from Lazio.

Considering how much he fell in love with his Europa League medal, it could be a very special moment when Sarri finally gets his hands on a league winners medal.
