Stoke's Next Signing Will See Them Hold An Incredible Record

They'll be above every other Premier League club when the deal is announced.

Stoke City have been linked with an ambitious move for PSG winger Jese Rodriguez and are widely expected to seal a deal to sign the former Real Madrid man.

The 24-year-old moved to the Parc Des Princes in 2016 but spent the back-end of last season at La Liga side Las Palmas, and enjoyed a run of games for the newly promoted side.

PSG's signing of Neymar may oust the former Real Madrid player out of the club, with a number of European clubs interested.

And a few days back, Italian newspaper La Nazione, via Football Italia, reported that Rodriguez has opted to join Mark Hughes's Stoke ahead of Serie A side Fiorentina.

Widespread reports say Rodriguez's season-long loan will soon be announced and once it is official, Stoke will hold a pretty impressive Premier League record as a result.

That's because with the signing of Jese, a Champions League winner with Real on two occasions, Stoke will be the side with the most Champions League winners of all the teams in the Premier League this season.

Chelsea have four in their ranks, Manchester City have three, Manchester United have two and Liverpool and Arsenal both have one apiece.

Once the deal for Jese is wrapped up, as shown on Sky Sports, Stoke will have a rather mind blowing five Champions League winners at the Bet365 Stadium, putting them one ahead of reigning Premier League champions Chelsea.

Summer signing Darren Fletcher won it once with Manchester United in 2008, Xherdan Shaqiri got a medal when Bayern Munich won the esteemed club competition at Wembley in 2012, while former Barcelona pair Bojan and Ibrahim Afellay both lifted the trophy in their time playing for the Blaugrana.

The former won it twice in 2008/09 and 2010/11, and the latter made a cameo appearance in the 2011 success as Pep Guardiola's awe-inspiring Barca side ran out 3-1 winners against Manchester United at Wembley.

Will Rodriguez be a good signing for Stoke? Do you find it a bit mad that they'll have the most Champions League winners in their squad?
