Benfica's Raul Jimenez Plays Perfect Rabona Cross To Set Up Teammate

You won't see many better assists this season than this one.

The perfect assist doesn't exis...clearly you haven't seen Raul Jimenez setting up Jonas for Benfica in their game in the Primeira Liga against Vitoria on Saturday evening yet.

There's certain bits of skill or trickery that look like an insult on a football pitch. Little is more disrespectful and beautiful at the same time as a nutmeg, juggling around players with the ball is just insulting too.

In fact most little pieces of skill are meant as an affront to the player they are being done against, there's something wonderful about a defender being absolutely fooled by a dummy, a faint or a step over.

However there is one piece of skill that just looks wonderful and doesn't really embarrass anyone, the rabona. Crossing one leg behind the other to cross or shoot the ball can sometimes be unnecessary but it's still beautiful.

Benfica midfielder Raul Jimenez perfectly used the rabona to his advantage last night to set up teammate Jonas for his and the Portuguese side's second goal against Vitoria in their 2-0 win:

Jimenez was obviously a fan of his own cross, posting on Twitter, 'If you can dream it you can do it:

Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard almost scored goal of the season against Bournemouth this afternoon - after attempting a stunning Rabona back-heel.

The Belgian play-maker has been praised to the high heavens this season after rediscovering the form that helped the Blues claim Premier League glory in 2015 and he was showing his best form this afternoon.

And not content with helping Antonio Conte's side push for team glory, Hazard obviously had an eye on the Goal of the Season award today - as a stunned Stamford Bridge crowd can definitely testify to:

Chelsea took the lead through an excellent finish from Pedro but there's absolutely no doubt that if Hazard had found the top corner with this, we'd never be hearing the end of it.

Would this have been, hands down, the goal of the season? And how good has Hazard been this season?
