A Southampton fan had the last laugh when his Secret Santa correctly predicted a 29/2 bet on the Saints to lose against Brighton.
Nathan Jones' side fell to a 3-1 defeat against the Seagulls on Monday night after goals from Adam Lallana, Romain Perraud [OG] and Solly March sealed all three points at Saint Mary's.
James Ward-Prowse managed to get himself on the scoresheet late on, but it was only a consolation as struggling Southampton sit rock bottom of the Premier League ladder.

It was, of course, a devastating result for many Saints fans, although one supporter in particular found at least some joy from last night's result.
Twitter user @SaintRob_ walked away with £77.50p and a four-pack of Thatchers Haze cider on Monday night after his Secret Santa decided to place on a £5 bet on Southampton to lose 3-1 against Brighton.
On December 15, at 11:02am, Rob posted a picture of his gift with the caption: "My secret santa gift this year was a four pack of Haze and a bet for Saints to lose 3-1 to Brighton. Brilliant. #SaintsFC."

Over a week later and at 4:44pm, after Brighton secured all three points, Rob took to Twitter again. "No f*cking way man, no f*cking way."
He then confirmed he'd been to the bookies to cash his betslip. "Every cloud eh?" he added.
Southampton, who have kept just one clean sheet in the league so far this season, slipped to 20th in the table on Monday night after their latest defeat.

After the game, manager Nathan Jones opened up on what his side need to do in the coming weeks and months to improve.
“We’ve got to cut out mistakes. We’ve got to build confidence and we’ve got to keep working structurally and pick the side that can do that," he said.
"If we want to be athletic, we want to be aggressive, we have to have players that can do that. And that's our job.
“We've had a month of training and no real games. Lincoln was the first game which led into this and we expected us to be better today.

"But, you know, we don't defend the box well enough at times and that cost us and it will cost you in the Premier League.”
He added: “We need to do certain things better and we'll work religiously on that."
Thoughts on the bet?
