Snoop Dogg Has Planned 'Epic' Party If Celtic Are Crowned Champions, It Sounds Incredible

Snoop Dogg Has Planned 'Epic' Party If Celtic Are Crowned Champions, It Sounds Incredible

"As soon as they are champions, you better believe I am on that flight to Glasgow.”

In one of the most random sporting propositions of the year so far, rap legend Snoop Dogg has promised an all expenses paid party involving champagne and Indian food if Celtic are crowned Scottish Premiership champions.

Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr, known by many as Snoop Dogg, has been a Celtic fan for 17 trophy-laden years.

Back in 2005, the 50-year-old American rapper was staying at the Raddison Hotel in Glasgow when he was given a green and white striped jersey in Glasgow by DJ Big Al.

Ever since, 'Snoopy' has been vocal about his support for the Hoops. In fact, he once considered making an offer for the Scottish club in 2012 before asking then-Celtic boss Neil Lennon if he could be a mascot for a 2013 European clash against Juventus.

Unfortunately that didn't happen [imagine the scenes if it did], but Snoop's love affair with the Hoops continues to this day.

Recently, he promised to fly over to Glasgow and provide Celtic players and staff with a "poppin" party if they manage to win the Scottish league title in the coming weeks.

"My Bhoys are not there yet but after their win against Rangers, they are getting close to winning the championship," he told The Daily Record.

"Snoop hasn’t booked his ticket just yet but the passport is out of the safe. As soon as they are champions, you better believe I am on that flight to Glasgow.”

He added: “The night is going to go off and whatever they want to do, it’s all going to be on Snoop. The champagne is going to be out and we are going to get it poppin’.

“For real, I love Indian food and always get the best curry in the UK. So if there are any good Indian restaurants in Glasgow, we can start the night there and I will hire out the whole place.”

Celtic currently sit six points ahead of second place Rangers in the Scottish Premiership with five games to play.

As mentioned earlier, Snoop Dogg became a Celtic fan in 2005 when he was handed a Celtic jersey by DJ Big Al.

Years later, the music producer told the full story in an interview with GlasGo Podcast.

"If I tell people one story it’s this. Snoop comes and he’s playing a show with The Game at the Carling (O2 Academy)," he said.

"We had nothing to do with the gig but we thought what we’ll do is we’ll hang around at the back, find out where they’re staying. Once we know where they’re staying we’ll stake out the hotel because we just want Snoop to say something for the mix tape.

"We get down there, find out they’re staying at the Raddison so we stake out the Raddison.

"When I say stake out, we sat in the lobby from the morning after the gig. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner in the Raddison lobby so we didn’t take our eyes off the prize.

"One by one, we infiltrated the crew. It’s easy to spot Snoop’s crew. So Chris, my partner in crime, has this idea.

"He says ‘the new Celtic top is dropping tomorrow so if we go to the Celtic shop they’ll sell us the old ones for £10’. This used to be a thing.

"Let’s spend a couple of hundred quid and buy tops for the squad and butter them up.

"We get there and there’s a couple of key members like Snoop’s uncle, Junebug, Guys that are close to Snoop.

"We get their names on the back of the shirts, go back to the hotel, they’re about so we give them the gifts and say ‘do you think when Snoop is about he can do something for the mix tape?’ And they’re like ‘yeah I’ll hook it up’.

"Then there’s the next guy and the next guy and we’re sending people back to the Celtic shop to get more tops. Everyone wants one.

"But ready to go we’ve got the Snoop No. 1 Hoops jersey. We just waited the whole day.

"We were getting pally with the crew and the uncles and it was the end of the day and they’re like ‘Snoop’s not leaving until tomorrow morning, come back first thing and I promise you’ll get it’.

He added: "I was thinking ‘he’s going to leave and we’re getting nothing’.

"We go back, get a couple of hours sleep and bounce back about 4am.

"By this point others have got a sniff he’s staying there and there’s quite a lot of people there.

"Snoop comes down, out of the lift and he’s got a red mink coat on and a red mink bucket hat. He just looks the s**t.

"He’s got two security next to him. Everyone in the lobby stand up cause it’s Snoop Dogg.

"This guy we’d been dealing with, Mike, is one of the managers who is close to him. The security stops everyone and he just goes ‘These two guys, these are the guys’.

"We’d sent the top upstairs and Snoop is like ‘Yo, come over, thanks for the gift. What do you need?’

"I just said ‘We just need a bit for the mix tape’ and hold up this wee recorded thing and he just does this drop in a total Snoop style.

"It’s just a one liner, he asks our names, says we’re the greatest DJs and says ‘thanks a lot for the top’ and boosts. We put that in the mix tapes and people are like ‘that’s unreal’."
