Move over Jamie Vardy, there's a new speed demon in the Premier League after recording a faster time than the Leicester City striker.

Vardy clocked an impressive 35.44 km/hour in the 2015/16 season during their league triumph, where he weighed in with 23 goals.

But he's no longer the fastest recorded player in the league.

And not only has he been surpassed, but the statistics prove to be the fastest since Premier League records began.

Introducing the fastest player in the Premier League: Leroy Sane.

Tracab system of broadcast graphics specialists Chyron Hego have crunched the all-important numbers to determine their findings via Manchester Evening News.

The Manchester City winger was recorded running at 35.48 km/hour (22.05 mph) in the 1-0 victory at Stamford Bridge, last weekend.

Just to put that speed in perspective, if Sane sustained that pace over 100 meters, the German would land a spot in the semi-finals of at the 2016 Olympics.

He's not the only rapid player at City. Kyle Walker and Raheem Sterling also fancy themselves as the fastest player at the club, with the £50 million right-back calling out Sterling and Sane to a sprint.

Walker's top speed is 35.23kph (21.89mph) while Sterling is just the third quickest player at the club with 35.04kph (21.77mph).

Walker wanted to prove he's faster than his City teammates after EA Sports unveiled their ratings and statistics on FIFA 18. The summer signing was rated below both Sane and Sterling hence the outrage.

"Let's have a 100-metre sprint for charity. Not a problem. With us three, and I guarantee I will win," Walker confidently declared.

Numbers don't lie, Kyle.
