Hundreds of locusts swarm Al Nassr's match as Cristiano Ronaldo scores four goals in 4-0 win

Locusts descended into the stadium.

Al Nassr's fixture at Al Wehda was hit by a locust swarm as Cristiano Ronaldo bagged FOUR goals in his side's win on Thursday.

Ronaldo's team travelled to Mecca for their Saudi Pro League clash at the King Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium.

Needless to say, fans flocked to the stadium to catch a glimpse of the former Manchester United and Real Madrid superstar.

But it wasn't just people in the stands as pictures have emerged showing a swarm of locusts scattered around the stadium.

A 'biblical swarm' of locusts descended into the ground during the game, according to reports.

Images online show hundreds of locusts all over fans and seats inside the stadium as they watched the league showdown.

The crowd of locusts at Al Wehda sent social media wild.

One Twitter user wrote: "These are locusts, and it's normal to see it like this since it's locust season. this also happens in South America, and Africa."

A second tweeted: "This looks more like a cricket match..."

A third added: "They came out to see Ronaldo."

Another joked: "Does Ronaldo play for Grashoppers Zürich now?"
