Ronald Araujo going 1v1 with freestyler shows difference between pro footballers and the rest

There was a clear winner.

Footage has emerged of Ronald Araujo going toe-to-toe with freestylers and there was a clear winner.

The 24-year-old centre-back was in imperious form for Barcelona last season as they won the league and matched La Liga’s record for clean sheets.

The Catalan giants conceded just 20 goals in 38 matches in the Spanish top flight, with Araujo forming a formidable partnership alongside Andreas Christensen in the heart of defence.

Araujo is now enjoying a well deserved rest after an arduous campaign but decided to take up a new challenge during his time off.

The Uruguayan took part in a video for the Shoot for Love YouTube channel where he defended against some of Spain’s best amateur freestylers, who took turns in attempting to dribble past the defender and getting a shot off.

The footage has since gone viral on social media, with fans quick to comment on how simply the Barcelona man dealt with each freestyler.

One fan wrote: "He is literally one of the best defenders in the world. Would like to see this with an average professional centre-back, probably same result tho."

Another added: "Of course circus tricks don’t work in real life sadly."

A third responded: "To be fair, Araujo is not one of the defenders you can try this nonsense for."

A fourth wrote: "He's the best centre-back in the world."

In fact, not a single one of the challengers were able to get to get a shot away, with Araujo stopping them long before they had the chance.

In the end, the combination of his pace and strength proved too much to handle, demonstrating the huge step up from amateur to professional level.

Hilariously, when asked to pick which player had impressed him the most during the challenge, Araujo chose the goalkeeper, who didn't have to make a single save throughout all 10 attempts.
