Derby County fans would have been pretty pleased with Harry Wilson's incredible free kick against Manchester United in the Carabao Cup but Liverpool fans might have been even more pleased. Now he's revealed Jurgen Klopp's reaction.

There's a lot of problems with loan deals but there's also some upsides to them, it depends which side of them you happen to be on. Manchester United probably weren't too happy with Harry Wilson's move.

The Derby County player, on loan from Liverpool, helped dump Jose Mourinho's side out of the Carabao Cup last month. Wilson scored a brilliant free kick on the way to a 2-2 draw before being one of the men to slot home his penalty, as the Championship side won on spot kicks.

It was right in the middle of United's troubles as it followed the draw with Wolves and Paul Pogba being stripped of the captaincy before they went on to lose to West Ham and Valencia in the sequence.

For Wilson though it was just the boost he needed and put him on everyone's map, especially fans at Anfield. Speaking to the Express the youngster revealed Klopp messaged him after the goal, saying:

"Jurgen Klopp messaged me after the United game. He just said: 'fantastic free-kick, really great football'.

"It's great to hear from the manager whose team you want to be in in the future."

Talking about the free kick, ahead of being in Wales' squad for the Nations Leagues games this week, Wilson added, "I have been practising a bit and if I can hit one half as good as the other night I will be happy. I think the Liverpool fans enjoyed it."

Wilson also praised Frank Lampard, saying, "He's been great.

"I spoke to him on the phone before I went there and what he told me about how he wanted his team to play made me realise it was the right club for me.

"Since I've been there I've learned a lot."

If he can keep producing at Old Trafford like he did last month then he's got a very bright future at Anfield.
