One member of the Martial FC fraternity has taken to Twitter to 'prove' why Anthony Martial is better than Roberto Firmino, although it's not a popular opinion.

There's a group of Manchester United fans on social media who have a cult like following for the French forward, whilst most fans of the club find the former Monaco player extremely frustrating for his lack of consistency.

Cult member @DrippyMartial has provided a very long thread to explain why the United forward is better than Liverpool striker Firmino, settle in:

In the most unsurprising twist other fans weren't exactly on the same page as Drippy, and SPORTbible Twitter followers voted in favour of the Liverpool forward, by a big majority.

Even United fans weren't having it with 'Bruno Fernandes Is A Baller' replying 'He isn't. end of thread.' to the original thread and another fan of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team added, "Bro I love martial but firmino is levels."

Liverpool fans had the most issue with the conclusion of the thread with one saying, "Congratulations, you have successfully wasted your time."

Another said, "Lol this is so embarrassing that you spent your time doing that," and a third added, "Okay, Lets make a deal. United can keep Martial and we keep Firmino, agree?"

A fourth fan of Jurgen Klopp's league leaders perhaps summed it up best saying, "Put your calculator away lad and watch actual football, then you would realise that firmino is miles clear."

A poor January for Martial had left him facing lots of criticism from United fans, those not members of Martial FC, and some were hoping Odion Ighalo might start ahead of him.

He answered that with three goals in three games last week, scoring the opener against Chelsea, United's only goal against Club Brugge, and the second against Watford.
