Lionel Messi scored the 50th hat-trick of his career on Saturday and his performance was so good that he made the Madrid media forget all about Cristiano Ronaldo.

Do you really need me to tell you that Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are the best two players in the world, have been for a decade and that the arguments between each man's 'fan boys' will never come to determine which of them is better.

You might think that Ronaldo's biggest fan boys were the random Twitter accounts that always tweet me when I've written about Messi even though they don't follow me, the same happens the other way round, but in the past it was Real Madrid and their local media.

The Juventus forward had in the past got angry when he thought his club weren't doing enough to help him win the Ballon d'Or, so they made a lot of noise to make sure he won four of the awards with them. No surprise when he left that Luka Modric won the award.

Madrid's media, especially Marca, are often biased towards Real and as such they loved the former Manchester United forward.

However now that he's gone they can finally praise Messi when needs be and following the Barcelona forward's hat-trick against Sevilla on Saturday the paper were full of praise for him.

In the column titled 'Messi's performance will have scared Madrid' Marca said:

"His goalscoring success causes him to break records and make history week after week.

"Three goals on Saturday against Pablo Machin's men, two with his left foot and one with his right, have taken Messi clear at the top of the Pichichi rankings.

"In just 23 games, he has 25 goals for the campaign and his performances continue to be spectacular.

"Nobody comes close and he has no equal, either in Spain or anywhere else in Europe."

So if you're ever wondering exactly how good Lionel Messi is at football, the answer is he's so good he can make people forget about Cristiano Ronaldo- now that's pretty damn good.
