Manchester City went back top of the Premier League table as they tore Maurizio Sarri's Chelsea side apart in a 6-0 win on Sunday afternoon.
Sergio Aguero was the main protagonist for Manchester City in haunting Chelsea's defence as he scored a hat-trick before the 65th minute mark in City's destruction of Chelsea on Sunday before being taken off.
The Premier League champions made a very fast start as Raheem Sterling opened the scoring in the first minute, Aguero missed an open net before netting twice and Ilkay Gundogan added a fourth in the 25th minute.
Chelsea actually improved in the first half after the fourth had gone in but the second half was all City again. Aguero hit the bar before a penalty gave him the chance to make it 5-0, to the surprise of no one he did just that.
Sterling added his second of the game, and City's sixth, with 11 minutes to go as once again the away side's defence failed to deal with a ball across the box.
The former Atletico Madrid striker's substitution in the 65th minute earned him an even earlier Man of the Match award than Paul Pogba managed on Saturday in Manchester United's win over Fulham.
The win took City back to the top of the Premier League table before they start a run of three games in a row not in the league.
Despite City's brilliance it was Maurizio Sarri's failings that most people were concentrating on:
Every manager in football history has changed style and formation depending on the opponent. But Maurizio Sarri, who has a grand total of zero trophies in 29 years, knows better. Er, ok mate.

Whatever about learning the "most basic moves" and "primary foundations" of Sarri's football, Chelsea's players seem to have forgotten the basics of defending.

Mad people say Sarri's never achieved anything. He's managed to make me leave a game after 25 minutes, that's fairly impressive.

Aguero off to a standing ovation. That's 43 goals in 64 PL games against Chelsea, United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs now. Level with Shearer on 11 PL hat-tricks - joint record. Second successive home hat-trick. Most league goals of any City player in history #mcfc #cfc

Aguero's hat-trick meant he'd scored two back to back triples and equalled Alan Shearer's mark of 11 Premier League hat-tricks.
The win takes City back above Liverpool in the race for the league title on goal difference, something they've won the league on before.
It's a day to forget for Maurizio Sarri, that's for sure.
