FIFA have slapped Dele Alli with a ban for his middle finger gesture. Needless to say, it's prompted wide spread reaction including a typically hilarious Tweet from Gary Lineker.
Alli was the talk of England's World Cup qualifier against Slovakia courtesy of his middle finger. Despite gesturing towards his international teammate, Kyle Walker, his actions have resulted in a one-game ban.
He's not only set to miss the game against Slovenia but he's also been fined 5,000 Swiss francs (£3,852). Though Alli is available for selection against Lithuania on Sunday.
Social media was rife after FIFA delivered their verdict together with Lineker's message.
He posted the following message on Twitter: "Dele Alli gets one game for one finger. Just a well he didn't give the V sign."
Here's the football governing body attempting to justify their decision:
"Although the disciplinary committee was not convinced that the player directed the gesture at the referee, and regardless of whether it was allegedly directed at a team-mate, it did consider such gesture to be offensive and unsporting. Therefore it amounted to a violation of article 57 of the Fifa disciplinary code," via BBC.

Meanwhile, England are on top of Group F ahead of Slovakia as they entertain Slovenia at Wembley Stadium next Thursday night, before traveling to Lithuania on the following Sunday.
England are on course to secure their place in Russia, next summer.
